Thanks to recent advancements, we are able to take pictures in colour. But Black and White is still loved for the "Timeless" and "Classic" Quality it possess. I was quite obsessed with it for a while last year. I want to tell you guys how to achieve best results while talking Black and White Pictures.
First thing to note is that you should shoot in colour. That will give you the choice later on during post production. Same with shooting in RAW.

One of the main reasons why I like to shoot in Black and White is that I can forget about colours and temperature and only focus on shapes, tones and textures. Which is why I tend to mostly use it during winter, where there are less vibrant colour and the days are dark and dull, as it is perfect in low lighting days.
You will constantly find yourself trying to find contrast in your shots. It is important to visualise your shot while shooting in colour. Which is why paying attention to shadows, lines and shapes is important, as those are the main components of a black and white picture.
Something that I used do when I first started out was, turn pictures to black and white because they lack vibrant colours. You should know that black and white should not be something you resort to just because your colour picture did not turn out as you planned to.
